Andrew Kaldenberg says he has spent nearly all of his professional life working at Rose Acre Farms because of the millions of lives his line of work touches.
“There is an amazing and increasing demand for protein in the world and eggs are the best source of that protein,” he says.
While Iowa leads the nation in egg production — an estimated 15 billion each year — for families around the country and across the world, Rose Acres embodies the definition of local. The feed, a ration of soybeans and corn, is sourced from area farmers who in turn, benefit from the poultry manure which is used as fertilizer. The eggs are even consumed locally as they are found in area Casey’s and other stores.
